• Rick and Laura have been married for thirty years and have two sons. Rick served twenty-one years on active duty in the United States Marine Corps and Laura also works in the medical field. Both of their sons followed in their father's footsteps and served in the military. One Soldier and one Marine.

Rick and Laura were awarded the Border Magic franchise and launched in the fall of 2023 in Eastern North Carolina. In the summer of 2024, Rick and Laura moved to Pinehurst Texas to be closer to their family and brought the Border Magic franchise with them. Border Magic by Montgomery Outdoor Designs is focused on providing our clients with the functional and beautiful continuous concrete border that not only simplifies their landscape maintenance, but also provides an addition to their home's curb appeal that exceeds their expectations.
